Melanie’s Speaking Engagement Schedule and Presentation Links

Melanie’s SharePoint Speaking Engagements & Presentations

As a way to track the times I’ve presented, I’m starting this list. Hopefully I’ll have time to blog about all of them, but time is limited as we all know, and at least this way there will be a list 🙂

9th Annual Tulsa TechFest 2014

Tulsa TechFest is hours of training for anyone in or wanting to get into the IT Industry. Attendees will definitely find interesting and instructional presentations by professional speakers. “The best way to get ahead is to get started.” That quote was printed out on a dot matrix printer when I was a small child, and the long (connected string of pages) sheet wrapped around the computer lab. I used to look at it while the teacher was talking, and I’ll never forget it. It’s a phrase I still say to myself at least every month and say out loud when I get the chance. In that vein, I’ll be speaking to newbies in business and with SharePoint, helping to get people started. TTF2014 has an impressive number of tracks, everything from IT to general business, from newbies to experienced users looking to hone specific skills – which is great because you can bring along friends that may not have the same interests as you. Follow the agenda as it’s being filled and mark the sessions you want to attend.

Ongoing Opportunities to see Melanie Nelson

These groups are great ways to connect with likeminded people. I enjoy attending, participating in and learning from, volunteering at and encouraging others at each of the below groups regularly.

Dallas/Fort Worth SharePoint User Group. Hosted at Microsoft’s Irving location, the DFW SPUG is a great place to get plugged in with the local SharePoint community. Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month.

Microsoft Collaboration Community

The MSCC was created around a process rather than a product. Meetings are scheduled individually and fluctuate around large conferences and other collaboration education and knowledge sharing opportunities.

Missed Opportunities to see Melanie Nelson

I'm speaking at SP24 logo

SP24 the 24-Hour SharePoint Conference

I will be an anchor during 6 presentations, and will also be moderating my pre-recorded session (too much to do a live session on top of anchoring).
